Vienna Highlights: Central Cemetery, Zentralfriedhof

The Zentralfriedhof in Vienna. Not an average tourist attraction, this cemetary provides a great occasion to study Austria's morbide obsession with death and its lost empire. You might recognise sites from "The Third Man" by Orson Welles. However, most visitors go to the section for musicians and composers. Here you will find the (fake) grave of Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Schoenberg - and Falco ("Rock me Amadeus"). Other famous cemeteries of Vienna include the Imperial Tomb and several catacombs.
