Mix of Highlights: Summit in Tyrol
back to "pictures"
The Zuckerhütl Mountain in Tyrol offers one of the most impressive vistas in the Austrian Alps: Into the Stubaital valley. The alps are divided into three groups: The Northern Calcareous Alps, the Central Alps (granite base, the highest mountains of Austria are part of this range) and the Southern Calcareous Alps (for more information on this, read the article on Austria's physical geography).
The Central Alps include the highest mountains and most popular skiing resorts, mostly in Vorarlberg, Tyrol and Southern Salzburg. In very high areas, regions with glaciers, the skiing season runs all year round.
