A memorial for a Soviet soldier in the Soviet section of the Zentralfriedhof.

The Zentralfriedhof in Vienna is a colourful place: There are sections for all sorts of ethnicities, denominations, religions, nationalities. This section is dedicated to Soviet soldiers that died in WWII and decorated appropriately. The cupola in the background is the back of Karl Borromäo Church, the central Art Nouveau building of the Zentralfriedhof.

Getting to the Soviet Section is easy: Just enter the Zentralfriedhof through the main gate, walk to the church, then beyond it - the Soviet Section is just behind it. For even more red stars, watch out for Socialist graves.
